Tell me something that’s true, that almost nobody agrees with you?
There is better pizza in Barcelona than “Parking Pizza”. It’s still great though.
How did you get interested in web3 and what you are currently working on?
We’ve been building a startup in the content curation space up until late last year. It wasn’t really heading off so we had to find something new where we really could make a difference. We learned that communities in general, and web3 in particular, are really underserved. That’s how we got into the topic and how we started working on Beyond.
What soft & hard skills have been most helpful in helping you succeed in web3?
Clearly problem-solving and being able to get into big complex topics in no time.
What do you focus on to differentiate Beyond from other competitors?
We’re building Beyond to act as a layer on top of existing platforms. Think your community on Discord or Slack becomes web3 enabled with Beyond without moving away from the platform.
What would you say is the most challenging aspect of managing a team in web3?
Probably also true for all other teams, but in web3 a lot of companies are remote-first. Creating and maintaining a team spirit without seeing each other every day is definitely a challenge.
What’s the best thing about your job? The most challenging?
There is an opportunity to learn something new everyday. One actually has to learn in the space otherwise you can’t keep up with the sheer speed of web3. That’s probably also the most challenging part.

What is your favorite web3 Project? Among the people you’ve worked/interacted with in web3, who do you admire most and why?
ENS is probably the best organised community and project I’ve seen so far.
Mark Hicks. He’s so into the whole web3 space and taught us already a lot. Great dedication to building in web3.
What is your vision for your niche? What do you expect to come in the next few years? What developments in the field do you find to be the most exciting?
My vision is to develop the niche of web3 enabled communities (runs on a token) into mainstream or at least being a big part of the movement with Beyond.
The most exciting part for me is the movement from big players like Facebook and co. into smaller subgroups and more targeted platforms for communities and audiences.
What is the question that has not been asked here that you would have enjoyed reading the answer to from one of your peers?
What’s the thing that web3 brought to the world that will really stick?
All the hype around expensive jpegs is needed to bring web3 mechanics to the mainstream but it will not stick around. What is going to stay is the fact that people can now own digital goods like they own physical ones. This is going big and will stay.
What quote has actually stuck with you and changed your life?
