Please tell us more about your background, how you got interested in Web3 and what you're currently working on?
My name is Shawn Pereira, and I am a 21-year-old Crypto and Web 3 Evangelist from India. My educational background is in business, but I am more interested in content marketing. In addition, I am a gamer and a part-time trader with 2+ years experience in crypto .
So, to begin telling you about my crypto adventure, it all began two years ago (in 2019) when a buddy introduced me to WazirX, an Indian crypto exchange. This is when I began trading and investing in cryptocurrency. However, I was familiar with trading prior to crypto as I was highly involved in the regular stock markets.
Then I traded for two years straight, and towards the end of my undergraduate career, I obtained a digital marketing internship where I learned about content marketing, social media marketing, and so on. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, I was unable to complete that internship, but I did learn a great deal.
After that, I thought of merging my crypto knowledge with my marketing skills, and that's when I started posting on Linkedin, and my career took off from there. This is when I began my freelance writing career, and I had the opportunity to write for Polystarter, Metastarter, UNQ Club, Strip Finance, InsideBitcoins, and other platforms.
While on this voyage, I was introduced to ODDZ, a Multichain derivatives trading DeFi protocol, where I gladly accepted the position of Content Lead to lead the firm to the moon. This opportunity came through a good connection of mine, and I will be eternally grateful to him for offering it to me.
So, currently, I'm in charge of content at ODDZ, and aside from that, I do a lot of stuff in the crypto space.
What is your definition of web3? Why should we care about it?
Web3 is, in my opinion, putting power in the hands of the people. We should care about it because it gives individuals ownership and control over the content they create.
What hard and soft skills have been most helpful to help you succeed in Web3?
I would say digital marketing is a hard skill that has helped me, whereas patience and time management are the soft skills that I am still utilizing.
What would you say is the best thing about your job? The most challenging?
The finest part of my profession is studying different topics and presenting them in a way that others enjoy. The most difficult aspect would be researching again because it is difficult and time-consuming.
What part should Content Writers play in web3?
Content writers play an important role in the development of any project. The demand is high, but the supply is nearly non-existent. Good writers are required for anything from a whitepaper to a pitch deck.
What is your content strategy thought process? What do you look out for, in what order?
Competitor analysis, search intent, and SEO are all part of my content strategy. It all relies on the requirements for every given piece of material.

Tell us the greatest working day of your life. You're at home in the evening, thinking of what you accomplished. What made you so happy that day?
Every day is a great working day for me since I get to learn something new. And, to be more specific, the day when my content is published on the web and receives a lot of engagement.
What is your favorite Web3 project? Among the people you've worked, or interacted with in Web3, who do you admire most and why?
My favorite Web3 project would be ODDZ. I owe a great deal of gratitude to many people who have helped me get here. I can't take their names since the list is practically endless.
What is your vision for your niche? What do you expect to come in the next few years? What development in the field do you find to be the most exciting?
I think that content marketing will be a crucial component of Web3 and that it has the ability to propel any project to new heights. For the next several years, the emphasis would be on building buzz for initiatives in which content will play a significant role.
The creation of a decentralised future excites me much since it has the potential to benefit many people like me both monetarily and in terms of growth.
What do you want to be when you grow up?
I aspire to be a professional content marketer and, eventually, a cryptopreneur.
What quote has actually stuck with you and changed your life?
Here are a few quotes that have influenced me to become the person I am today:
“Any work you put in 100%, then you’ll be successful.” – Sandeep Maheshwari
“The only way to clear your mind is to stay grounded in reality.” – Sandeep Maheshwari
Any tips for beginners who aspire to work in this domain, but feel completely overwhelmed to even start competing?
To begin, I recommend that writers should focus on competing with themselves rather than competing with others. Simply strive to be a better version of yourself every day. Furthermore, don't enter the cryptoverse if you don't understand anything about it. Do your homework and become well-versed in all of the technicalities. No project wants sloppy material on their website.
