At the Celo Foundation, we support various partners across the Celo Ecosystem including cLabs, the team working on the open source platform Celo, whose mission is to build a financial system that creates the conditions for prosperity for all.
Celo aims to remove the barriers for large-scale adoption of cryptocurrencies as means-of-payment. Using a novel address-based encryption algorithm, the Celo protocol makes sending money as easy as sending a text. Additionally, Celo uses stable-value tokens pegged to fiat currencies, like the US Dollar, to minimize volatility. Celo is an open protocol enabling many to participate in the system, even with a budget Android smartphone. The first application launched on the Celo platform, Valora, is a social payments and money transfer app, aimed at developing markets.
As the Celo Foundation Communications Lead, you will drive all aspects of Celo’s global communication strategy and execution in support of Celo’s mission. Reporting to the Head of Marketing and President, you’ll work closely with cross functional teams to develop PR and communications strategies that raise the visibility of Celo Ecosystem projects and help attract new audiences to the Celo ecosystem. A seasoned communications leader, you will be responsible for managing external PR agency resources and a broad set of media touchpoints to maintain and extend Celo’s position in the blockchain ecosystem.
You Will:
Manage Celo Foundation announcements in coordination with the Head of Marketing and President of Celo Foundation.
Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders on announcements and interview opportunities.
Work with Social Media team on communication campaigns.
Write and edit press releases and announcements.
Manage the work of external PR agencies and freelancers in the US, Europe, Africa and LATAM.
Collaborate with thought leadership writers in the organization and help get their stories published.
Closely collaborate with the Celo Foundation cross functional team to ensure key executives are well positioned in the regional press.
Measure and track coverage results and ensure organization is apprised of news flow.
You Have:
7+ years in comms/public relations on client or agency side.
Excellent copywriting and editing skills.
Energetic, enthusiastic approach with a progressive and can-do mindset.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
