NEAR Foundation is looking for a leader to drive our international expansion efforts. This role will build awareness for NEAR technology in every major region of the world by developing strong, independent local hubs. The Head of International Expansion will report directly to our NEAR Foundation CEO.
As the Head of International Expansion, we’re looking for a proven strategist. You are able to source your own opportunities and take them from exploration to execution stage. You are a self-starting, results-oriented leader with experience scaling hyper-growth organizations while strengthening culture, communication, and collaboration across teams. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the global blockchain ecosystem, as well as regional nuances.
You will
Recruit general managers and regional leaders to run each of the top 20 global hubs and generate leading outcomes for the NEAR project locally that feed into the global success of the protocol over the next 2 years.
Architect our international expansion strategy and expand regional relationships and opportunities for NEAR. You will be ecosystem-facing and source and prioritize the best opportunities for partnerships
Lead leaders to build new regions to launch regional hubs strategically. Apply learnings from previous region
Create a framework across the regions to propagate information, share best practices across the functional teams and cooperate for global initiatives
Coordinate connectivity between Foundation and regional hub’s functions, to maintain consistent message and expand
Set up governance structure for regional hubs to become proactive members in the global decentralised NEAR Protocol governance
Deliver transparency to the ecosystem across regional hubs performance
Your objectives will be to
Increase total value of ecosystem and number of active users on NEAR, by
Creating awareness of benefits of the NEAR ecosystem and increase local share of voice
Building top-tier developer shop relationships in the region working with NEAR
Building the largest member base for the local guilds vs comparable communities
Having the highest rate of fundraising for projects among comparable communities
Maintaining strong relationships within the crypto and broader technology industry in key markets
Enthusiastically educating our community and the greater public about blockchain technology and it’s possibilities
You have
Very strong leadership and recruiting ability to hire the best local GMs. A track record of leading best-in-class team that consistently delivers high-quality, bold work that meets and exceeds ambitious goals.
Deep understanding of the target markets, including other blockchain projects and landscape. Use knowledge of the market and competitors to identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators.
High level of operational rigor and clarity to set clear objectives and hold local GMs accountable.
Deep understanding of the pieces of a successful blockchain local ecosystem and nuanced with regional variations.
High level of accountability and ownership for outcomes and the ability to deploy substantial budgets to local leaders
Excellent organizational skills, with an emphasis on priorities and goal setting
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic start-up environment
Follow the latest industry developments and possess a strong understanding of our products, competition, and positioning in the industry
Present to, and consult with senior level management on business trends with a view to developing new services, products, and distribution channels
Understanding of the company’s goal and purpose to continually enhance the company’s performance
