At the Celo Foundation we partner with organizations across the Celo ecosystem including partnering with cLabs, the team working on the open source platform Celo, whose mission is to build a financial system that creates the conditions for prosperity for all. Celo aims to remove the barriers for large-scale adoption of cryptocurrencies as means-of-payment.
Using a novel address-based encryption algorithm, the Celo protocol makes sending money as easy as sending a text. Additionally, Celo uses stable-value tokens pegged to fiat currencies, like the US Dollar, to minimize volatility.
Celo is an open protocol enabling many to participate in the system, even with a budget Android smartphone. The first application launched on the Celo platform, Valora, is a social payments and money transfer app, aimed at developing markets.
We’re looking for someone to oversee and lead the Celo Foundation social media strategy, and collaborate with the team on managing execution. This person will develop a social media strategy that will be aimed at increasing engagement, driving awareness and growing the adoption of Celo.
This person will collaborate cross-functionally to source stories about the builders, projects, founders and users across the Celo ecosystem, and use these to grow Celo’s social channels including Twitter, Instagram and TikTok. As a creator of content and social, you will pave the way for Celo’s voice and brand online, pairing art, science and creativity to grow the Celo community, build strong influencer relationships and scale operations globally.
This person will be responsible for creating and distributing informative, high-value social content, and will have a passion for creative storytelling and creating content that influences, educates, and engages audiences. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a strong vision for building and activating a diverse community of crypto natives and those new to the space.
You Will:
Own Celo’s social media channels, from planning and producing content to distributing and analyzing results, in partnership with the social media and wider marcomms team.
Partner with Celo Foundation employees and the broader Celo community to write, edit, and ship content in line with the brand voice for Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Reddit, Discord, Telegram, blog and newsletters - across multiple stakeholder segments.
Articulate and communicate the Celo Foundation brand voice across the company’s social media channels.
Partner closely with the marcomm team to align on the content calendar as well as partner closely with the legal team to best navigate compliance and regulatory frameworks.
Develop and implement strategies to grow Celo’s online communities, including influencer relationships and global ambassador programs.
Bring knowledge of the crypto industry, the culture and best practices to form a strategic vision for how to best elevate Celo in the space.
Assist in the development, planning, and implementation of integrated marketing campaigns and external company announcements.
Marry art and science by monitoring and applying engagement analytics and insights.
Work with a global cross-functional team to align priorities and bring Celo’s voice and vision to life through our engagement with the Celo community.
You Have:
7+ years of experience and ideally 2 years in crypto/blockchain specifically.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with multiple stakeholders within a rapidly evolving industry.
Managed multiple workflows in a rapidly changing data rich environment.
Communicated and distilled crypto-based stories to many stakeholders with varying degrees of technical understanding.
Proven ability to develop and tailor strategies and content to address varying channels and audiences; experience hosting and producing livestream events.
Demonstrated excellent communications skills and high emotional intelligence.
