NEAR Foundation is looking to add a Developer to our growing engineering team. This developer is responsible for pairing with NEAR’s development agencies (“dev shops”) to facilitate their onboarding, assign and prioritize development tasks, and provide development support to ensure the successful execution of dev shop deliverables. This individual will work with dev shops to remove impediments and promote quality through the application of development best practices, code reviews, and QA as needed.
You’ll:
Become a key technical point-of-contact for all active dev shops
Leverage your deep understanding of NEAR technology such that they can autonomously instruct and unblock our dev shop counterparts
Facilitated at least 6 trusted dev shop developers through NEAR certification
Manage process for development & release flow of projects and products building on NEAR and perhaps requiring hands-on assistance
Aid key stakeholders in development of features and releases, assembling business requirements
Contribute to architecture design discussions and is able to delegate
Establish timelines, deadlines & restrictions for development
Ensure that the most secure and stable tests are implemented
Field concerns from stakeholders in the NEAR ecosystem, assessing viability, and prioritizing accordingly
Requirements:
Development. Manage process for development and release flow of projects and products building on NEAR, and engage in feature development as needed to contribute to high priority tasks or unblock a dev shop.
Partnership and support. Maintain consistent communication with dev shop partners, validate dev shop progress through onboarding and development tasks, solicit and provide feedback, and route questions to relevant stakeholders.
Technical requirements. Understand the landscape of needs and priorities, and match skillsets with immediate needs to help move along potentially stalled projects. Aid key stakeholders in development of features and releases, assembling business requirements, and contribute to architecture design discussions.
Feature roadmapping. Establish timelines and milestones, and provide context to stakeholders vis-a-vis the NEAR ecosystem, feature viability, and prioritization.
Code quality.Review PRs, assess security implications (non-exhaustive), conduct preparedness testing (deployment to testnet, simulation), and ensure that the most secure and stable tests are implemented.
